We exult in the Hope of the glory of God! (Rom 5:2) We exult, when there is victory in a situation. Exulting is showing elation or jubilation, usually following a success, like when your favorite team wins the game, or you just received some amazing news! Makes sense right? However, the very next verse, verse 3 says, “ And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance, and perseverance, proven character and proven character, hope.
I would venture to say that many of us have prayed for hope, or maybe even strength to persevere but how many times have you prayed for proven character?
Why and how can we do this? Because of verse 5 beloved, “ and HOPE does not disappoint, because the Love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” It is only by faith that we can take our eyes off a given situation and place them back on our Father saying, “We don’t understand, but we trust you Lord, that you are who you say you are! That you have the ability to enlighten the eyes of our heart to know the hope to which you have called us. The hope we have in Christ is not one that disappoints. It is a sure hope, that is sure that our God will come through for us. He will deliver or He will walk us through this. But He will never leave us alone dear ones. No, never alone! The hope we have in Christ is that we serve a mighty God who is always working all things for the good of those who love Him.
