What if we operated from a place of fullness inste

What if we operated from a place of fullness instead of hunger?
Hunger to achieve something or receive something, be that love or accolades…

If we operate from a place of recognizing that Christ has already filled us with everything we need for life and godliness ,then we are already “fulfilled.”

We aren’t looking for it in every situation.

After that, what we pour out becomes an offering instead of a transaction of giving so that we might receive.
Beloved we can be full of many things but only the fullness of God can satisfy.

I’ve been thinking so much lately about how we serve an Ever Present God. He is with us.
A year after Alan moved to Heaven my mom and I took a trip to the east coast, a place we had never been. My grief was raw but I also knew time is precious and wanted to make memories. This is how God showed up…

I sat in the sunroom of our Inn, drinking coffee, my Bible open in my lap.
The ocean today, showing a very different face. The waves were thrashing against the rocks,the sky weeping amidst grey skies; a reflection of my mood.
My heart cried out to the Lord, "I need you Lord. I need you to speak to my heart."
He answered through His word.

“But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. It is not in heaven that you should say,' Who should go up to and get it for us and make us hear it that we may observe it?'Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will cross the sea for us to get and make us hear it that we may observe it?'

He is near us dear ones!
And the comfort He would have us take is but a page away.

Taking a walk in autumn is one of my absolute favorite things to do. But. This particular walk I took a few years ago marked me forever!

I’ve felt it deep in my soul. Like the steady beating of a heart. Courage. Courage. Courage.

The lack of it.

The great need of it.

The way it has the power to change things when a frail human lays hold of it and steps up to the plate we call life.

“Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We are living in desperate times beloved. Desperate because we need Jesus desperately.
But haven’t we always?
Social media is a great place to connect but it’s not “my space.”
Posts can be hidden, removed and whole accounts taken down.

Day in and day out, life can look the same, and th

Day in and day out, life can look the same, and the future can resemble a long, dusty road. It may even look nothing like you wanted it to. You may feel stuck and empty.

We usually focus on that first word, stuck, and try to come up with a plan to move the needle of our life. Maybe we should, instead, focus on the other word: empty. I’ve been on this journey for the last six years. It’s a journey of adjusting my gaze from my ‘lack’ to the ‘gifts’ God has hidden in that place.

It begins with feeding your soul so it’s not empty.

Normally we don’t go a day without feeding our bodies yet our spirits also need fed. But with what? Jesus tells us He is the Bread of life. He reminds us that, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4, NKJV). Every word is food for our hungry souls.

Without a doubt we’ll all go through seasons in our lives that feel a bit desert-like. The heat of our circumstance may be anything from dry to straight up oppressive, and we can’t seem to escape. What would happen if we shifted our gaze from the heat of our lives to the Bread of life? What if we craved the Living Water and drank from that well instead?

Next time you are feeling stuck, friend, check your eating and drinking habits. Are you feeding daily on His Word? Or are you just running to grab a bite when life gets tough?

When we feel dry, empty, and overwhelmed it can be a symptom of the lack we have spiritually. I have discovered when I feel that way, the Father is calling me out, maybe even to the desert, to rest and be refreshed by the Lover of my soul.

His desire is to fill our hearts and minds with His Word so that we recognize everything in our lives that isn’t in line with His. But we have to do something, friend. He won’t force-feed us. We must come to Him and partake. We must seek Him.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13, NIV).

If you feel empty, perhaps you are. When was the last time you feasted on God’s Word?
