Autumn Beauty and Taking Up Our Cross.

Posted on October 2, 2021October 9, 2021by tara.dickson

Fall is sweeping in and I just love it. I know some of you are mourning the end of summer but when the leaves dress in their finest, splendor and the air looses its heaviness, I feel my heart begin to skip. The afternoon light carries a depth of gold that’s fleeting, And, I wonder […]

Finding Jesus In The Nooks and Crannies.

Posted on November 6, 2017by tara.dickson

We were walking along the harbor in Beaufort, South Carolina. Well, I was walking, Ava was dancing. The sun was just beginning to set, casting a glow of golden light shimmering across the waters. I found myself sharing with Ava,”It’s beautiful! Look at the beautiful water God gave us, Ava!” Yesterday, it was a spontaneous […]

The Treasures Around Us.

Posted on September 24, 2017September 25, 2017by tara.dickson

It’s paradise, they say, or at least as close as you can get to it! Looking around it would seem so! The vegetation is so lush all around you, every shade of green broken up my bright pinks, creamy whites and bold reds. Sitting on this balcony gazing out at the blue waves that stretch […]

Drink From the Well

Posted on October 19, 2016December 21, 2016by tara.dickson

Now the day is over.  Night is drawing nigh.  Shadows of the evening, steal across the sky. These are the words that came to my mind as I saw the night sky above me on a walk last night. It produced such a longing in my heart for that calm sweet feeling that comes when […]

Posted on October 6, 2016December 21, 2016by tara.dickson

Hope that is seen is no hope at all. For who hopes for what he already sees?  This friends, this one stops me in my tracks. Let’s just take a moment and look at something beautiful.  Even these flowers show hope. Once they were but tiny seeds. That were placed in a very dark place. […]

What If I Told You I Found The Secret To Aging Gracefully?

Posted on September 17, 2016December 21, 2016by tara.dickson

I love beautiful things! Don’t we all? We exclaim or sunsets, ocean views, and baby anything! I love that the Lord loves beauty too and He created an amazing world for us to live in. He loves a variety of shapes and colors in people and animals too.       Yet as […]

You are my Lord, I have no good apart from you. (P You are my Lord, I have no good apart from you. (Ps.16:2)

As I walked up and down the shoreline not unlike this one, this truth kept ringing in my heart but I had no words to express the feeling.

Then I walked back and grabbed something cool to drink and sat in His Word.

All the things knocking around in my heart were confirmed and expressed through His Word.

That is the beautiful thing about His Word. He loves to talk to His people through it. He left His Spirit with us so that we have someone to give us revelation and insight as we read.

This particular verse isn’t hard to understand and yet we often search for goodness in so many other places.

You are our Lord. We have NO good apart from you.
Where are you trying to find goodness apart from God dear one?
Then push reset in your heart and ask yourself
How have I seen God’s goodness today?

Spent the day with this girl. Celebrating her neve Spent the day with this girl. Celebrating her never gets old and I will never take it for granted.
She has been a gift since she entered our lives 30 years ago and never stopped bringing joy, love and Jesus to those around her.
My words are few because I shared them all with her.
But if you know her you love her and your life is better for it.
Happy Birthday Ab! ❤️
I’m praying for you today beloved. Truly, I’m I’m praying for you today beloved.

Truly,
I’m praying that your love for Him may abound.
Because when that happens, then.... our love for others can abound.

How does it grow?

It comes from being with Him, soaking up His Word, (getting that knowledge in our spirits.)
It comes when we ask the Spirit to give us discernment when we read.
It comes from walking and talking with Him.

The Bible is not a dry, dusty old book it’s the living word of God that has the power to change us.
And the more I read it the hungrier I am for it.
If more of God’s word is what you want join us over on the Seek and Savor podcast. It s a place we savor His word and His presence.
So we can be changed.
The link to listen is in my bio. ❤️

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart. I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart.
I will tell of all Your wonders!

It’s so easy to slip into a mentality of lack or even need when we come to the Father.

I’m so aware of all the ways I need the Father,
of all the areas I need Him to move in my life and in the lives around me,
that before I know it I can slip back into the habit of just coming to him with my long, long list of things I think I need.

When in reality, as Psalm 23 says,
“ The Lord is my Shepherd , I lack nothing.”

I know this doesn’t mean that I can’t ask him for things. In fact he tells us to.

But I want to create in my heart a constant awareness of all that He has already done on my behalf.

I want to walk in the realization that I will never know all the ways God has already moved on my behalf, even before I asked him.

And, I want that to change me, the way I think and speak and pray. I want to know this so deeply that when I come before him with requests, I can’t help but praise Him first.

May thankfulness change the very fabric of our being!
Verses to Seek and Savor: Ps. 95:2; Phil. 4:6; Ps. 9:1
What are some areas in your life where you are believing the lie of lack over abundance?
I would love to agree with you in prayer. Let’s move that mountain of unbelief.
I’ll start. ❤️
Save this post to remember or share to stories and encourage a friend.
Why does the light draw us beloved? Let this word Why does the light draw us beloved? Let this word encourage your heart. You were made for greater things, eternal things. ❤️#lighttheworld #lightofmylife #thereisnodarkness #renewyourmind #hopeforthefuture #liftupyoureyes #rejoicealways
I don’t know about you friend but there can be s I don’t know about you friend but there can be so many things pulling at our time that we end up doing the things that demand our attention and roll onto the next. A little of this, a little of that and nothing done well.
I’ve felt the Lord calling me to slow down long enough to listen for His still small voice.
I’m holding things up to the light. This Lord? Is this something you still want me to do?
What about that Lord? Can I still bring you glory that way?
I want to clear my schedule of everything I I’ve put on it that isn’t necessarily something He put there.
And if there is something I keep “never getting around to” that He really wants me to, my desire is to bring it front and center.
We can do things “with all our might,” beloved and we should. Because with Christ living in us the possibilities are endless.
Maybe we just need to pause first, rearrange our to-do lists and let Him fill us up.
He is an overflowing, abundant kind of God.
The very best!
What needs to shift in your daily life to make space for His best for you?
