He Still Moves Stones

Posted on March 5, 2018March 6, 2018by tara.dickson

After a month or more of too many feelings and not enough words, I felt the Spirit’s excavating presence. We survived. We made it through the month of Alan’s birthday and home going. It was 2 years ago that we walked away from the cemetery and retreated to the beach, to walk the shores and […]

Open Heart Surgery- The Valentine Gift We All Need.

Posted on February 2, 2017by tara.dickson

“Be still my soul, the Lord is on the side. Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide. In every storm he faithful will remain.” These words from an old hymn by Katherine Von Schlegel have come to me twice in the last week. I was walking […]

What Does Courage Look Like?

Posted on November 20, 2016December 21, 2016by tara.dickson

The trees on my morning walk are changing. The last of the bright red leaves are bravely clinging to their branches, while the ground is covered in every autumn hue. With each gust of wind they rain down, a fresh blanket for my feet to crush in the passing.      As the […]

Sometimes it’s easier to do the expected.

Man’s expectations are everywhere.

They shout at us, promising us things.

But listening to His still small voice and waiting in uncomfortable spots for him to answer has its own reward.

I’m in that place of waiting on Him. Again.

My heart is wide open and listening, because time is precious dear ones and not using every moment for him is such a waste.

What if Heaven was so flooded with prayers for each other on this, an average Saturday, that even the angels took notice?

What battles might be won?
What truth might be revealed to listening hearts?

Let’s flood Heaven ya’ll! I can’t think of a better way to spend my day! Drop your prayer request or dm me. Then share this to stories to keep it going. ❤️

If I asked, “Who wants to grow deeper in Christ? If I asked, “Who wants to grow deeper in Christ?”
I’m sure I would get a rousing shout of agreement.
But too often we don’t then do what it would take to bring that to pass.

Sara Haggerty once said,” Most of the time we don’t reach for God, until we have to.” And I know all too well what that feels like beloved.

So, this is your invitation beloved to grow deeper now.
Don’t miss today’s blog post: NOW IS THE TIME TO GROW DEEPER. You can find it at taradickson.com or the link in my bio.
“Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him.” Col. 2:7
Are you hungry for the voice of God beloved? Mayb Are you hungry for the voice of God beloved?
Maybe the idea of hearing from God is foreign to you and sounds a little crazy.
Maybe you can’t seem to find the time to stop and listen.
I did a podcast a few weeks ago on “How to listen to the voice of God in a world that is loud.”
Many of you listened to it.
But when I sent out a poll only half of you do this on a regular basis. In another poll 100 percent of you wanted to know more and asked for more podcasts on this topic.
So here it is beloved!
We are diving into God’s voice in general and specifically in areas of wisdom and decision making!
Click the link in my bio for the Seek and Savor podcast. Each episode is less than 10 minutes. A nugget of truth to carry with you today!
Share or save if you know others who need God’s wisdom….
Don’t we all? And He is faithful to give it when we ask!

I sit in the dark living room lit only by the can I sit in the dark living room lit only by the candles soft glow.
A morning thunderstorm is keeping the usual light at bay and I am savoring that feeling of being tucked away.

The rain is pouring from the heavens beating its presence on the metal roof of my sunroom.
Abundance… Abundance… it seems to say. I am the God of abundance Tara.

It’s easy to focus on our lack beloved. Our feelings shout at us. You are weary. You are worn. You are not enough for all the people who need you and all the situations life is throwing your way.
But, our God speaks too, if we listen. He reminds us that life with Him can be ABUNDANT in the midst of all the lack we see. Because He is our Abundant God when our lack meets His abundance, all is well!

The more I gaze at the lack the more I see it. As if it grows with the attention it receives. The more I gaze upon His abundance the more I rest. It blots out every thing that would exalt itself against my great God.

Where are you gazing dear one?

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Phil.4:19
Save or share if this encouraged your heart.

Have you learned to be silent? I know that sounds Have you learned to be silent?

I know that sounds like a strange question. I mean, is silence something that even has to be learned?

From the time we enter this world, we yearn to communicate. First with a cry, then a word or two, and finally sentences. But I was reading this quote from Charles Spurgeon the other day, and it stopped me:

“Faith can hear the footsteps of coming salvation because she has learned to be silent.”

I thought about all the times I’ve brought things to God. Pushing, pulling, and dragging them behind me. Even talking about them the whole way as I ‘try’ to lay them at His feet.

More often than not, as I head back out to greet the day ahead of me, I find the things I meant to leave behind are still attached to my heart; they still consume my mind.

Philippians 4:6-7 tells us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (NIV).

Maybe that is one thing that Spurgeon was trying to remind us. When we bring our anxious thoughts and concerns before the Lord and give thanks for the answers we don’t yet have, we are able to walk away with a peace that surpasses understanding.
Our faith is silent, waiting, trusting our God to move on our behalf.

Not trusting Him to give us exactly what we asked Him for, but trusting that He is working. For He is already moving to save us and redeem the situations we find ourselves in.

Hearing the steps of coming salvation requires silence, friend.

Who wants to be still with me and listen?
